Your therapy journey is unique in all the world. It can be painful and exhilarating, incredibly challenging, and unbelievably rewarding. It takes courage to begin the inward journey of asking hard questions, exploring and listening well to the answers that emerge.
“Three things are hard… steel, a diamond, and to know oneself”
– Benjamin Franklin
My Mission
Let’s face it. Life is difficult. And even though there is great joy, pain is inevitable. It’s often pain that brings people into the office of a psychotherapist. My mission is to meet you where you are, assist you in achieving the goals you set, and help you become more of the person you want to be.

My Beliefs About Therapy
It’s not easy to describe psychotherapy in general statements. It varies depending on the personalities of the therapist and client, and the particular challenges you are experiencing. There are many different methods I may use to deal with the issues you’re wishing to explore. We’ll discuss these methods as part of your treatment plan.
As much as we’d like for therapy to be easy, there are no instant, painless, passive cures or “magic pills”. The most important part of counseling is you. Your willingness and active involvement in changing your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. It takes work both in and out of the counseling sessions (homework assignments are a critical part of our work together). The good news is it’s absolutely worth it.

Confidentiality
Confidentiality is one of the most sacred aspects of our work together. All health care information is protected by HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996) regulations. In depth paperwork regarding all confidentiality rights is provided in the online paperwork requested to be completed by the first appointment.
